The aim of this project is: “Promotion of equal opportunities for members of vulnerable social groups”
More specifically the targets are:
  • Improving employment among unemployed members from vulnerable social groups, mainly among those who face multiple social isolation

  • Multilevel support to the beneficiaries in order to enter labour market of to create small enterprises

Project Activities:

The aim of the action plan is to help unemployed women, who have already benefited from the services of Ergani Center through counseling, to come in touch with local employers Ergani provided, through the project, information, support and guidance to members from vulnerable social groups (women facing single parenthood, unemployment etc.) in order to enter labour market. The acquaintance among employers and women took place at Diavata during the Simulated Career Days that were organized by Ergani Center and Developmental Agency of Thessaloniki. A lot of small and medium enterprises are located in the region of Diavata. The final goal is, on the one hand, the familiarization of women with the procedure of job interview and their vocational rehabilitation, and on the other hand, their contact with the enterprises of the specific area

Project Activities:

The scope of the programme was to support members of vulnerable social groups with the ultimate goal to create the necessary conditions for their optimum social and professional integration. Throughout the programme the beneficiaries had access to a range of services:
  • Ways to resolve practical aspects of the integration of specific population groups, such as the legalizing process and other related issues.
  • Enhancement of social competences (self-knowledge and self-management skills, social awareness, interpersonal relations etc.)
  • Development and enhancement of professional skills and promotion to training or pre-training programmes.
  • Support through counseling sessions in job-hunting techniques.
  • Support in securing a place in the job market.
  • Supporting entrepreneurship (Business plan preparation)
  • Information and continuous updates on health, social provision, and professional topics that were of interest to the beneficiaries
  • Psychosocial support, empowerment, encouragement and active participation of the beneficiaries in actions for alleviating social tension or problems of racial/social exclusion
  • Motivation of the beneficiaries for participating in the social, political, and cultural life maintaining at the same time their own cultural identity.

  • Provision of support to the centres and advisors of North-Western Thessaloniki through knowledge transfer activities and monitoring of counseling on female entrepreneurship and professional orientation.

Project Activities:

The coordinator in this project was the Municipality of Ugheni from Moldova; the main target was the establishment of a Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) in this municipality and the further development of a WRC in Romania’s Iasi. In this project the Ergani Centre was responsible for the transfer of knowledge activities.

Project Activities:

This pilot project referred to outlining the characteristics of Very Small Enterprises (VSEs) and of investigating their educational needs. Counseling sessions on issues of entrepreneurship were organized aiming at boosting the enterprises’ competitiveness. Project activities included vocational training in class and through distance learning in vital sectors of business administration, business plan preparation and innovative exploitation of new technological applications in training.

Programme “Centre for Business Studies – Entrepreneurship in the Technological Educational Institutes (TEI) of Thessaloniki, Serres and Kavala” - Mentors’ Training

Project Activities:

The Ergani Centre was responsible for “Mentors’ Training” for the TEI students of Thessaloniki, Serres and Kavala; in this framework it undertook the training of mentors, successful businesspeople and company staff members. Mentors worked with students who prepared a number of virtual enterprises. Among project activities were:
  • The production of original educational materials for the training of mentors.
  • Mentors’ selection
  • Mentors’ Crash Course
  • Selection and monitoring of the mentor-beneficiary groups

Project Activities:

The aim of the project was to socially integrate women from vulnerable social groups. The coordinating organizations were the Centre for Accompanying Support Services (K.ES.Y.Y.) EOP of Central Macedonia along with Anatoliki Developmental Agency. Professional orientation and entrepreneurship support services were provided to female single parents and unemployed women over the age of 35.
European Initiative EQUAL
Title Action for eliminating segregation in the working environment – EQUAL- ANDROMEDA Network

Project Activities:

22 organisations participated in this project with the Centre for Researching Equality Issues coordinating. The aim was to promote equality and to eliminate professional segregation according to gender in the private and public professional marketplace.
Project activities included:
  • The creation of a monitoring and evaluation mechanism for the integration of the dimension of equal opportunities to related policies.
  • The encouragement of enterprises to include equal opportunities in the organization and operation of everyday reality.
  • The creation of a network of employers, organizations and social partners for the enhancement of regular dialogue at a regional level.
  • The creation of new educational tools for women and the revisiting of existing ones.
At the end of the project, best practices were disseminated at a local and interstate level. The Ergani Centre was the main coordinator of the Regional Equality Observatory of Macedonia-Thrace.
Programme ECOS/ OUVERTURE - AWAKE project “Targeting the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills by women for entrepreneurship”

Project Activities:

This project was realized by a network of organizations in Greece, Italy, Slovakia, Estonia, and Bulgaria. The main targets were:
  • The activation and empowerment of women for the development of business activity in new sectors of the economy.
  • The establishment of “Female Entrepreneurship Support Centres” supporting new female entrepreneurs in establishing their own businesses and in modernizing them with the use of new technologies.
  • The enhancement of an integrated regional cooperation in order to enhance the role of women in the local professional marketplace.
  • The creation of a standing Forum of Female Entrepreneurs at a local and regional level.

Project Activities:

All activities pertained to the support of the operation of the professional orientation service for unemployed women of the entrepreneurship service and the mentors’ programme. During this project, all educational materials (mentors’, employment counselors’ and trainers’ training materials) became available in electronic form (CD). At the same time a study on new sectors in female entrepreneurship was completed and the know-how was disseminated through national and international networks. Finally, one of the activities involved the establishment of a network of new female entrepreneurs of the Ergani Centre.

Project Activities:

Τhe programme under the title “Ergani Centre” referred to the development of a Professional Orientation for unemployed women service, an Entrepreneurship support service, the creation of educational packs for professional orientation for unemployed women, and of a business pack for candidate entrepreneurs. Among the programme activities was the provision of training for unemployed women and candidate entrepreneurs in establishing and managing their own business, a comparative study based on gender on the profile and needs of entrepreneurs and the dissemination of related know-how and expertise by participating in national and international networks.

Project Activities:

The aim of this programme was to establish a Centre for the Support of Women’s Employment. Project activities included the training of unemployed women in the secretarial support of companies, in Byzantine iconography, in using the CAD CAM system for the manufacturing sector, as well as in business administration and management. Throughout training, all female beneficiaries had access to psychosocial support services and to counseling sessions related to topics of entrepreneurship and employment.
